The famous Verdi’s Melodrama is back in teatro Grande after 6 six years and will include a cast of well-known voices such as Angelo Veccia interchanging with Francesco Landolfi in Rigoletto. Beside them are the young, talented and promising Lucrezia Drei and Claudia Pavone (both as Gilda), Matteo Falcier and Marco Ciaponi (performing as Duca di Mantova), and Alessio Cacciamani (Sparafucile), Katarina Giotas (Maddalena), Nadiya Petrenko (Giovanna), Matteo Mollica (Conte di Monterone), Giuseppe Distefano (Matteo Borsa), Guido Dazzini (Marullo), Giuseppe Zema (il Conte di Ceprano) and Anna Bessi (Contessa di Ceprano). The new staging is directed by Elena Barbalich, from Venice, who has received wide approval for her works. Scenes and costumes are curated by Tommaso Lagattolla and the lights by Fiammetta BaldisseriPietro Rizzo, a conductor of renowned experience and already a guest of the New York Met and the Berlin Deutsche Opera, will lead the Orchestra I Pomeriggi Musicali.
