Teatro Grande di Brescia

AY! | EVA YERBABUENA

On 16th April at 21 Eva Yerbabuena, the extraordinary and charismatic flamenco dancer, will perform on the teatro Grande stage, substituting Israel Galvàn’s performance, cancelled for his wealth conditions.

The expressive and intense flamenco of Yerbabuena toured all around the world thanks to many international tournée and got several awards and eulogies. An impressive tecnique, an overwhelming rhythm and and the deep and introspective performance made Eva Yerbabuena one of the greatest “bailaores” of international Flamenco.

Honoured with National Dance Award, Eva Yerbabuena, accompanied by an excellent ensemble of 5 musicians (guitar, drums, voice and violin), will present the deepest among her shows: Ay!.

“Ay” is the symbolic cry of flamenco, at the same time a collective shout – of pain, anger, but also of joy and celebration. A scream that indentifies everyone indiscriminately as human beings, united under the same “ay”. The sensitivity an the great performing strenght of this artist, beloved by Pina Bausch (whom she collaborated with in 1998) and Carolyn Carlson (whom she shared the stage with in several occasions), capture and deeply interest during a show that has a universal meaning in which variations of flamenco are explored. A performance where, once again, Eva Yerbabuena confirms herself as a formidable dancer, revealing at the same time footwork precise and nuanced, and power in her choreographies and her artistic vision.
