Creator of a virtuoso and innovative style within the flamenco world, Israel Galván, is nowadays universally recognized as the most important performer of flamenco. He developed a beauty that significantly combines two approaches, contemporary and traditional.
‘Vicente Escudero’ Award at Concurso Nacional de Arte Flamenco di Córdoba (1995); ‘El Desplante’ Award at the Festival Internacional del Cante de las Minas di La Unión (1996); awarded at ‘I Concurso de Jóvenes Interpretes’ at the IX Biennial of Flamenco of Siviglia (1996); awarded Flamenco ‘Hoy’ as best dancer by the critics (2001 e 2005); ‘Giraldillo’ Award as best performer of Baile at XIII Biennial of Flamenco of Siviglia (2004); national award for dance in ‘Creazione’ category assigned by Culture Spanish Minister; Grand Prix de Danse 2009-2010 (France); MAX Award as best dancer assigned by Spanish Society Authors and Editors (2011); MAX Award as best dancer and best choreography (2012); Bessie Award (New York, 2012); Gold Medal from Spanish Ministers Council (2012).
