Ballet National de Marseille is one of the most important and historical French companies. From 2014 it is directed by Emio Greco and Pieter C. Scholten that gave a new more radical and contemporary sign to the company.
Sur Pointes is composed by several authors, Emio Greco and Pieter C. Scholten and Jeroen Verbruggen on the other side. Dealing with classical tecnique the choreographers reflect about their visual dogmas and incite the dancers to reconsider their own experience aiming to new effects and emotional impacts. Working with “toe shoes” express the final perfection of classic ballet evolution? And if so, is it the end of the evolution? A fascinating discovering inside the contemporary dance.
