Ballet Preljocaj | La Fresque

La Fresque, a creation inspired by an ancient Chinese fairy-tale, tells us of a journey into another dimension where the appearance becomes a place of transcendence and the physical person enters into relationship with the appearance. The question of the appearance is at the centre of this research that brings us back to the myth of Plato’s cave and its shadows that doubt our existence. The choreography explores the mysterious relationships between representation and reality, highlighting, through dance, the bonds that are established between fixed image and movement, between instantaneousness and duration, between living and inert. Behind this metaphor enclosed in the narrative is the question of representation and of the place that art occupies in our society. ”
