Dada Masilo / The Dance Factory | Giselle

DANZA&DANZA AWARD 2017 AS BEST CONTEMPORARY SHOW

Dada Masilo is one of the most original and irreverent choreographers of the international stage. Trained at PARTS’ Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker, she achieved several awards and recognitions. Her works, often unconventional re-imagining of classic ballets, show choreography maturity that enables her to face with mastery and intelligence themes of contemporary debates. Her South African Giselle is a charming and intense rewriting of one of themost famous title of classic ballet. In her very own version, Dada Masilo goes beyond the pure narrative aspect, focusing on the characters psychology and dealing with deception, betrayal, anger and suffering.
