Teatro Grande di Brescia

Lezioni di storia | 1989. La Rivoluzione democratica

Within a few months, the communist regimes imposed after the end of the Second World War implode. From the first movements in Poland, fever spreads throughout the Eastern bloc. The advent of reformist Gorbachev in Russia and the ever-increasing need to heal the economy leads to a political-economic revolution that will forever alter the world powers, marking, together with the collapse of the Soviet Union, the end of the Cold War and the beginning of a completely different historical phase.

Valentine Lomellini teaches History of International Relations and History of European Integration at the University of Padua.

The show is part of the Il Teatro Grande initiative for schools and universities.
