Starting with Marius Petipa / Lev Ivanov’s version in 1894, Swans Lake represents the mythical image of academic dance like few other ballets.
In the choreography conceived for the Ballet de l’Opéra national du Rhin, Radhouane El Meddeb deconstructs the classical weaving – preserving its excellence and magic – to make the famous love story more romantic and emotional by relying on the most carnal and emotional part of the body.
