Luca Francesconi’s primal and unchained energy is inspired by many inspirations, from avant-garde to jazz and popular music. Sentieri selvaggi presents several examples in a monographic programme that runs through all the years of its production up to the recent Insieme II, published last year in a specially written version for the ensemble. In Francesconi’s music, strength and lyricism meet each other in equal measure, giving rise to pages whose high level of communicative and technical skill required by instrumentalists is well suited to virtuosity of Sentieri selvaggi musicians. There are also Tracce for bass clarinet, Charlie Chan for violet, Mambo for Piano, and a song for guitar and ensemble, featuring the extraordinary guest soloist Elena Casoli.
