Piano Solo, more than a traditional piano concert, is a tribute to the art of improvisation. When Stefano Bollani enters the stage for his one-man show, anything can happen. There is no set list, no programme to cling to follow the succession of songs. The spectator is brought on an adventure every other evening, a trip to breathlessness through apparently distant musical horizons. You can go from Bach to the Beatles, from Stravinsky to Brazilian rhythms, with sudden incursions into pop or Italian repertoire of the forties. In this stream of musical consciousness, laughter and emotion mix together. One thing is certain, at the end of the concert the public will decide the encore.
