30 Shakespeare sonnets betrayed and translated by Dario Jacobelli
Lino Musella, accustomed to moving between film and theater, here stars in a fascinating poetic journey through Shakespeare’s immortal verses, here “betrayed” into Neapolitan by artist Dario Jacobelli. Musella recounts love, beauty and the transience of life in a brave, visceral and seductive language. Joining him on stage is Marco Vidino – on chordophones and percussion – with his evocative and enveloping music that accompanies the audience on this intimate journey. Dario Jacobelli, a poet who died prematurely in 2013, author of short stories and novels, skilled lyricist for musicians such as the Bisca, the 99 Posse and the Almamegretta, devoted himself in the last years of his life to the translation into Neapolitan and the betrayal, as he liked to call it, of 30 Shakespeare’s Sonnets.
